Seeking therapy is a sign of strength, not weakness. It's a proactive step towards personal growth, self-awareness, and building resilience. It's about investing in your well-being, clarifying your path, and developing the tools to truly flourish.
Whether you're battling persistent anxiety, struggling with low mood or depression, navigating the pain of grief, or wrestling with self-esteem, counselling can provide the clarity and support you need. As a BACP accredited counsellor, I create a compassionate space and act as a powerful "mirror" to help you understand your experiences and move forward.
With over 7 years and 3,000 hours of experience, my integrative approach helps you see how your thoughts and beliefs profoundly influence your emotions and actions, often in ways you haven't fully recognized.
Uncovering hidden patterns and thinking errors often requires an objective perspective. Just as you can't see your own reflection without a mirror, certain aspects of our inner world remain out of view. I provide the safe and supportive environment for this essential self-reflection, leading to genuine and lasting change.
Drawing heavily from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), I'll provide you with practical, evidence-based tools. You'll learn to identify and transform unhelpful thought processes by understanding common cognitive biases or "thinking errors" that colour your perceptions.
Seeking therapy is a brave and empowering step. It's an investment in your personal growth, self-awareness, and resilience. It's about empowering yourself to clarify your path and develop the tools to truly thrive.
The foundation of effective therapy is trust, and at Insight Counselling & Psychotherapy, your privacy is paramount. Everything we discuss in our sessions is held in the strictest confidence. This secure and non-judgmental space ensures you can explore your thoughts and feelings freely, knowing that what you share remains between us. I adhere to the ethical guidelines set by the BACP and am fully compliant with UK GDPR regulations, upholding the highest standards of discretion and data protection.

Therapists need to be suitably qualified and registered members of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) or a UKCP (United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapists) member or National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society (NCPS).
As professional bodies, BACP, UKCP and NCPS ensure that all members meet the professional standards, ethics and qualifications required to practise and keep skills up to date through continuing professional development (CPD).
I offer open-ended sessions and review regularly. There is no specific time frame when working on personal development and growth. On average, many people undergo counselling for a minimum of 8-12 sessions.
There are many benefits to engaging in therapy, including gaining a better understanding of yourself, figuring out life goals and prospects, improving personal relationships, developing coping skills, enhancing problem-solving abilities, making positive changes to problem behaviours, changing negative thought patterns to boosting self-esteem and empowering lasting change.
Please email me at info@scottmottram.co.uk or call me on 07467 865934. I work flexible hours, so we can discuss availability to book an initial consultation at a mutually convenient time. You can visit me at my Solihull practice room or book online or via telephone.
Our sessions are confidential and I do not routinely share information about you, other than anonymously, as part of my professional development. There are some exceptions to this, such as if I was required to by law or had serious concerns about your safety or someone else's safety.
If you're considering counselling, I invite you to get in touch. Feel free to contact me with any questions about how counselling works or to arrange an initial assessment. This allows us to discuss why you're thinking of coming to counselling, explore if it could be helpful for you, and determine if I'm the right therapist to support you.
